About me

Building software that solves real problems

I'm Akatwijuka Elia, a software engineer from Uganda. I work across the stack, designing data models and APIs with Django and Node.js, and building fast, accessible interfaces with React and Next.js.

I care about clean architecture, performance and the details that make software easy to use. Lately I've been exploring AI and vector search, and how they can make everyday products smarter.

    RENU Uganda

    Present

    Currently working at RENU as a graduate trainee, following the industrial traineeship on the support portal.

  2. Industrial Trainee

    RENU Uganda

    Jun - Jul 2026

    Led deployment of the RENU support portal: set up GitLab CI/CD pipelines, containerised the app and migrated it to a production-grade Kubernetes cluster. Also led the server security checklist, with firewall policies and vulnerability scans of the web apps.

  3. Quality Control Industrial Trainee

    Jan - May 2026

    Handled Linux system administration, Docker-based deployments and secure networking with WireGuard VPNs and SSH. Provisioned single board computers and WiFi access points, flashed firmware and automated routine tasks with Bash scripts.
